Condustrial, INC . is looking for an  electronic maintenance technician for a manufacturing plant in  Lugoff , SC.

Hours : 7pm-7am

Pay : $33-$35 (or more) DOE

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide primary technical support in the manufacture of cables. Become an integral part of the manufacturing team by way of adherence to engineering guidelines and assisting in the development of manufacturing processes and machine operations. Offer creative suggestions and ideas toward process improvement in all areas of manufacturing. In addition, all technicians will work in a safe manner at all times.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot/diagnose existing extrusion, interlock and secondary processes making the necessary improvements as required for an optimum process.
• Knowledge and solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), electrical drives, motors, encoders, electromechanical systems, and electronic sensors of all types.
• Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining production equipment to ensure quality and uptime metrics using preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills and repair of machines. Candidates for consideration should have strong troubleshooting skills in electrical/electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems with a strong aptitude to identify and correct system failures.
• Candidates are also expected to utilize excellent electrical/electronic skills and knowledge of PLCs, AC and DC motors/drives and circuit schematics. Additionally utilizing mechanical skills and knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, power transmission will be equally important.
• Read and use blueprints, circuit schematics, manuals, technical drawings, work orders, etc.
• Keep the work area safe, clean and organized.
• Maintain and create procedures and documentation.
• Assist the shift team leader in maintaining a consistent flow of products within manufacturing in agreement with the planned level of production. This includes facilitating planned product changes, color changes, printer setups, extrusion setups, and coordinating assistance from support departments.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Perform plant startup tasks, energizing all equipment and ensuring operation.
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic components on machines such as relays, switches, motors, circuit boards, PLC and position sensing devices as necessary.
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic components of machines and equipment as necessary.
• Develop and maintain a knowledge of processes and materials utilized in the manufacture of products in the cable industry.
• Develop and maintain a level of professionalism in verbal and written communication with internal and external customers / suppliers.
• Assist with and lead quality improvement projects. Actively participate on continuous improvement teams.
• Assist with the training and education of manufacturing personnel.
• Assist with certification process of manufacturing personnel as directed by the supervisor.
• Perform all duties in support of the quality systems at Sterlite.
• Perform other duties as designated by the direct supervisor and engineering management.
• Under direction of supervisor, be available to work overtime assignments as required to fulfill the position requirements and responsibilities.
• Communicate shift-to-shift information to the manufacturing technician on the following shift.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma Required.
• Experience in Manufacturing
• 4+ years of Electronics Maintenance Technician experience
• Experience shall include three years of extrusion experience.
• Highly-qualified candidates will possess a technical degree and/or apprenticeship certification in a relevant field
• Must demonstrate and show quality of work.
• Preferred candidate will have demonstrated a record of self-motivation and proven organizational skills.
• Willingness to participate in and lead continuous improvement efforts.
• Apply mathematics to ensure appropriate interpretation and measurement of drawings, specifications, formulas, and tooling tolerances. Use of measuring equipment required.
