POSITION SUMMARY
The Grants Manager will play a critical role in securing resources to help advance ECC’s mission by managing funding opportunities from government, foundation, corporate, and other funding sources to support ECC’s national offices and five regional offices. The Grants Manager collaborates across departments to stay current with ECC’s evolving programs and needs, translating these into compelling, data-driven proposals and reports that reflect ECC’s impact. This position requires a dynamic blend of relationship-building, project management, and strategic thinking to ensure ECC’s mission is effectively communicated to funders. The successful candidate will work with teams to drive the grant lifecycle from prospect research to proposal drafting, submission to post-award compliance and reporting.
This position reports directly to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer or future Director of Development.
Location: Remote. Must be available for regular in-person visits to Washington, DC and in-person meetings as required.

Salary: $85,000-$95,000
RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Management
Manage the organization’s grant management pipeline, workflow, and schedules. Work collaboratively with the Regional and National Program Directors and teams to coordinate the administration of grant requests and reports to ensure that the process involving multiple deadlines, staff, and requirements is systematized efficiently with project schedules and master documents. Assist in writing, editing, and reviewing funding proposals and reports to ensure quality control and deadline requirements. Develop and adapt proposal templates. Serve as the primary point of contact for grant-related activities within ECC, coordinating with program, finance, communications, and leadership teams to gather information, verify data, and ensure accurate and cohesive narratives in all submissions.
Grant Reporting
Oversee all post-award grant reporting, ensuring that all funding requirements are met, progress is tracked, and reports are submitted in accordance with deadlines. Provide thorough analysis and documentation of programmatic outcomes for funders.
Project Management
Manage and maintain a detailed calendar with annual deadlines, including proposal submissions, grant reports, and other funder-related communications. Ensure all deadlines are met, with sufficient time for internal review and approvals. Develop and implement efficient systems for managing the submission process, ensuring smooth collaboration across teams. Continuously improve grant management systems to ensure streamlined processes for proposal development, data tracking, and reporting. Seek opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and increase efficiency in the submission process. Establish protocols to ensure all grants meet the requirements of funders and align with ECC’s internal policies. Implement tracking systems that monitor compliance with reporting schedules, financial commitments, and grant deliverables.
REQUIREMENTS
● Minimum three (3) years of work experience in fundraising and project management in a nonprofit organization.
● Bachelor’s degree.
● Experience writing for climate justice, social justice, or movement-building organizations is a plus.
● Excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to mage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
● Experience managing individuals and teams.
● Clarity to establish and achieve specific, measurable, attainable, and time-sensitive goals.
● Capacity to respond quickly, be flexible, and positively adapt to change.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write and speak about complex issues in a compelling manner.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce required.
● Motivated by the organization’s issues and solid mission-driven work ethic.
● Comfortable with self-reflection, willing to learn, and capable of honestly working through conflict.
● Demonstrated track record of working well in a diverse team environment.
● Ability to learn quickly and work well in a fast-paced environment.
